Encarni, María Cortés and Bertuchi bolster the project

Our women’s team continues to sign players for the 22/23 season. Three components of the winning block, Encarni, María Cortés and Bertuchi, further strengthen the defence, midfield and the attack.

Following the signings of Nazaret and Águeda, together with the renewals of Torralvo, Carmen Gómez, María Arrabal, Farfán, Yoli, Futu, Tati and Silvia Mérida, the Blue and White project is boosted with the continuity of Encarni, María Cortés and Bertuchi.

Accompanied by MCFF coordinator, Alicia Fuentes, the three Blue and White players signed their contracts today until 2023 at La Rosaleda’s offices.

María Encarnación Carneros Pascual ‘Encarni’ (Villanueva del Rosario, Málaga, 1996) is one of the players with the longest careers at the club, since her time with Club Atlético Málaga to the current Málaga CF. One of the team captains, a feisty defender and member of the team that was promoted to Liga Iberdrola in 17/18 and which played in the elite in the 18/19 season.

In the 21/22 campaign, Encarni was a key player of the team competing in Primera Nacional Group 4. She accumulated 21 matches (three goals) in the League and another three in the Copa de la Reina to total 24 games and 1,850 minutes of play.

María Cortés Espinar (Paradas, Sevilla, 2001), a box-to-box midfielder who plays as a pivot ahead of the defence, she arrived at the club in 2020 from Real Betis Balompié Féminas.

After playing 16 matches in the Reto Iberdrola 20/21, María showcased her best qualities in the 21/22 season. A set piece specialist, she scored four goals and made several assists from lateral free kicks or corner kicks in 25 matches (22 League games and three in the Copa de la Reina). She was a key player in achieving the league championship win.

Desireé Rodríguez Bertuchi (Málaga, 1990) is a quality second striker, with a great deal of goal arrivals, who returned to her origins last summer.

Her experience and versatility were highly valuable for the team in the historic 21/22 season, in which she had a relevant role either as a starter or coming off the bench.

‘Bertu’ played 21 games and scored seven League goals, as well as providing various assists to her teammates. She also played three matches with MCFF in the Copa de la Reina.

Encarni, María and Bertuchi guarantee commitment, competitiveness, and enthusiasm for a new project in the revamped Segunda RFEF. We’re delighted to have you!
