Málaga Club de Fútbol is joining an initiative throughout the month of February promoted by the Agrupación Unidos Contra el Cáncer, together with Unicaja Baloncesto and Club Balonmano Femenino Costa del Sol, to mark International Childhood Cancer Day, observed on 15th February.
This joint effort by Málaga’s sporting community aims to raise awareness and promote understanding of the fight against childhood cancer by bringing this message to fans during the official matches of the participating clubs. In Málaga CF’s case, La Rosaleda will host awareness-raising activities during the matchday 27 fixture of LaLiga Hypermotion, in which the Blue and Whites will face Albacete Balompié on 22nd February.
Specifically, Málaga CF will once again carry out the Agrupación Unidos Contra el Cáncer’s Escort Kids initiative for the second consecutive year. The participating boys and girls will walk onto the pitch hand in hand with the players, wearing commemorative kits, followed by a group photo on La Rosaleda’s pitch.
In addition to the matchday activities, Málaga CF, through its Foundation, will organise various initiatives throughout February aimed at children undergoing or following onomatology treatment. On 11th February, the traditional visit to Málaga’s Materno Infantil Hospital will take place, with representatives from both the Club and the Fundación MCF in attendance.
In addition, on 12th February, the Ciudad Deportiva Fundación MCF will also host a friendly match between AVOI CF and the Fundación MCF’s Supercapacitad@s School.
The presentation of these activities took place in the press room at La Rosaleda Stadium. Attendees included representatives from the Agrupación Unidos Contra el Cáncer, as well as Basti on behalf of the Fundación MCF, Carlos Cabezas representing Unicaja Baloncesto, and Pepa Moreno from Club Balonmano Femenino Costa del Sol, as well as Paco Cantos, Councillor for Social Rights, and Abel García, Medical Director of Málaga’s Regional University Hospital.
