Diego Rolan: “The fans expect goals, so I’ll be doing my best to score”

The new Blue and Whites’ forward is visibly delighted during his presentation, and affirms that Málaga is “one of the best teams in LaLiga”.

MCF Academy CEO, Hamyan Al-Thani was in charge of presenting the latest Malaguista signing, along with sports director, Francesc Arnau, who defined the footballer’s attributes: “Diego is a striker adapted to Europe. His characteristics will fit in perfectly. He’s a forward who’ll bring us another record, in respect of Borja and En-Nesyri. He uses spaces, but also knows how to play between the lines”.

Characteristics of Rolan

“I like to go for the spaces a lot, and search for the ball between lines. The fans expect goals from Diego Rolan, and I’ll try to score as many as I can to help the team. My signing has that objective, that Diego Rolan can score goals, and that’s what I’m going to do”.

Recovery from injury

“In regard to my injury I’m doing pretty well. I’m improving, it’s not very serious. Within two weeks I’ll be under the coach’s orders, so I’ll make the most of this time to make a good recovery”.

Great Club

“Everything happened very quickly. This time period was very difficult from a personal point of view. There was interest from Málaga and I made the decision to come here as it’s a great Club, with a great background, many Uruguayan players have been here. It’s one of the best Leagues, and Málaga is one of the best Clubs in the Spanish League. That’s why I decided to come here. I had other options, but I think Málaga was the best”.

Objective

“My initial objective, first of all, is to help the team. If it’s not with goals, then with attitude and gameplay. From there, a personal aim; to score goals, as that’s one of my characteristics”.

Reference: Darío Silva

“Darío Silva spent a great time in Málaga. He’s a superb striker and scored many goals here. He’s a good role model”.
