The Málaga Femenino right winger reviews her footballing career, and talks about her hobbies other than football.

María Martí is the latest incorporation to Málaga Femenino for the 2017/18 season. In this interview, we look at the right winger’s career ‘under the microscope’, and why she left Taekwondo to join the world of football.

  • When did you start playing football, and why did you choose this sport?

I started playing in the square with my brother and his friends, until a family friend proposed I joined what was my first team. Back then I was studying Taekwondo, but it only took me a few weeks to decide to choose football.

  • What’s the best memory of your footballing career?

I especially remember my years in the USA. Although, getting to the First Division has to be one of the most beautiful rewards in football.

  • Why did you choose Málaga CF?

As soon as I received the call proposing this great project, I didn’t hesitate to come here.

  • How’s the pre-season going, and training with your teammates?

We’re training with great intensity over the pre-season, it’s been a very important time to adapt to the new method of work, and be at 100% for the League. The dressing room is very united, and we’re feeling great. We’re all going in the same direction, which is essential to achieve the objective.

  • What do you expect from this season?

Without doubt, getting Málaga CF to the First Division. We have to maintain total concentration in every game if we want to dream big.
