Demichelis: "Our nervous excitement about this match is normal”
Málaga Club de Fútbol’s Argentinean defender, Martín Demichelis, spoke to the media this Friday morning, at the Ciudad de Málaga stadium, before the first team’s training session.
Statements from Demichelis
(Match against Valencia) "We know the importance of this match, against a very difficult rival. We’ll try from the very beginning to make it a tough match for them. Valencia have a lot of great players as well as the striker, Soldado. The most important thing for us is to play a complete game, and focus on our motivation for this match”.
“They’ve just suffered a defeat, which could be an advantage for us. However they’re fully aware of the importance of this match, and they’re a big Club who are used to playing twice a week. I don’t think Valencia will settle for a draw. Winning this match will see us in third place in the League, but our rival will be playing a powerful game, so we need to keep the pressure on them throughout the 90 minutes”.
“We love these matches. We’re all nervous and excited leading up to the game, but it’s a good feeling, which is normal because of the importance of this result. This time last year we had very different objectives, and it wasn’t so great. We can’t wait for the match now, it’ll be like a semi-final and a final at the same time, as a win will see us nearer to qualifying for Champions, but if things don’t go our way, we’ll still have options to get there”.
