Defeat for Alexander in Copa América debut

The Malaguista right back made his debut last night in the South American tournament, losing 3-0 against hosts, Brazil.

Alexander González was again part of the ‘vinotinto’ starting-11, playing on the right wing for almost the entire match, being substituted in 90’ by his teammate Ronald Hernández.

Brazil defeated Venezuela at Estadio Nacional de Brasilia, the first match of the competition, by a clear 3-0, with goals from Marquinhos, Neymar and Gabigol.

In the other Group B duel, Colombia defeated Ecuador (1-0), to go level at the top of the group with the ‘canarinha’ outfit. Venezuela will face Colombia on Friday 17th June (23:00, Spanish time), in their second match of the first phase of the tournament.
