Defeat by Betis Féminas in the second test of the pre-season
Málaga CF Femenino faced Betis at the Demetrio Pichel ground in Sevilla. The Blue and Whites dominated the first half of play but ended up losing 3-0 in a match which included players from within the Malaguista youth ranks.
The second test of the pre-season for Málaga CF Femenino took place at the San Roque Balompié facilities, the Demetrio Pichel ground (Sevilla). The Malaguistas faced First Division side, Real Betis Féminas and lost by 3-0.
During the first half, Málaga dominated the match and made dangerous approaches to the goal defended by Emily. The clearest chances stemmed from Carol and another from Adriana that sailed over the crossbar. However, Betis went ahead in 38’ with a goal from Irene Guerrero. A play that the Betis captain converted within the area, where there was hardly any visibility for the Malaguista defence. The presence of homegrown player, 16-year old Luisa Olmedo in the Malaguista defence made it possible for the scoreboard to remain at 1-0 at half-time, thanks to her superb performance.
In the second half, Málaga Femenino searched tirelessly for the equaliser. First Buceta, then Pamela. They approached the Green and White area again and again until in 78’ Otermín made it 2-0 for Betis. In minute 84, Irene Guerrero sealed victory for the rivals with a rapid free kick to score the final 3-0.
