No points for Málaga CF Femenino on Sunday away to Madrid CFF ‘B’, despite a superb first half. Goals from Cris, Alba and Marta led the leaders of Segunda Federación Grupo Sur to victory.
Málaga CF Femenino were away to group leaders Madrid CFF ‘B’ on Sunday afternoon for the matchday 18 fixture in Segunda Federación Grupo Sur.
The Blue and Whites, wearing the pink away kit yesterday, arrived at this match at the Antiguo Canódromo in 4th position, with 32 points, while the locals were at the top of the standings, with 41.
Coach Juanma Gómez opted for a 1-4-4-2 formation, with a starting-11 comprising of: Andrea in goal; Encarni, Ruth, Mérida and Yoli Peche in a line of four defenders; María Cortés and Nazaret on the double pivot, with María Farfán and Marilén on the wings; and Futu and Monterroso upfront.
The Malaguistas had a great first half, well-positioned on the field of play and generating more chances than the Madrileñas.
Yet this dominance didn’t translate into a goal and Madrid CFF 'B' took advantage of a rebound to take the lead through a goal from Cris (1-0, min37).
In the second half, the Malaguistas came out with lesser pace than at the start of the match, also impacted by the push from the locals. Shortly after play resumed, Alba converted from the penalty spot to make it even more difficult for our girls to score points (2-0, min52).
Marta sealed the final result (3-0, min81).
With this result and Femarguín's draw, MCFF are in 5th place with 32 points. This Saturday at 16:00, at the Francisco Romero ground in Rincón de la Victoria, the Malaguistas will host FF La Solana on matchday 19 of Segunda Federación Grupo Sur.
