Dani Lorenzo extends his contract until 2028 with an option for another year

The midfielder has extended his contract with Málaga CF, which was set to expire next season, through the 2027/28 campaign, with the option of an additional year.

The signing took place at La Rosaleda Stadium’s offices, with sporting director Loren Juarros accompanying the Blue and White number 22.

Daniel Lorenzo Guerrero (Marbella, Málaga, 2003) has been with the club for four and a half seasons and has made nearly 100 official appearances for Málaga’s first team. He made his debut during the 2021/22 season, at just 18 years old, in a Copa del Rey away match against Peña Sport de Tafalla (0-3).

During his youth development, Dani Lorenzo split time between the Malaguista academy and a spell with Real Madrid CF’s academy (2017-21), returning to Málaga CF in the 2021/22 season to join the Juvenil ‘A’ side. While still registered as a youth player, he made his debut for both Atlético Malagueño and the first team. The following season (2022/23), he gained further experience with a mid-season loan move to AD Mérida.

Upon his return, in the memorable 2023/24 campaign, the talented Marbella-born midfielder became a key figure of the team that earned promotion to LALIGA HYPERMOTION. After overcoming physical issues that limited his involvement in the previous 2024/25 season, Dani has established himself at the heart of midfield this campaign, becoming a regular starter under Sergio Pellicer and Juan Francisco Funes, performing at an outstanding level.

Dani Lorenzo’s renewal symbolises the Club’s trust in a player developed under the Blue and White values, whose quality, commitment, and constant growth have established him as an important part of the sporting project.

With youth, ambition, and a deep Malaguista identity, Dani Lorenzo will continue to grow alongside the Club, which reinforces its commitment to homegrown talent by securing the future of one of the players destined to shape both the present and the future of the institution.

Congratulations on your renewal, Dani!
