September afternoon at El Alcoraz for the fifth matchday of LALIGA HYPERMOTION, featuring SD Huesca against Málaga CF. On the pitch, Sergio Pellicer made changes compared to the previous starting-11. A. Herrero; Murillo, Recio, Montero, Víctor; Joaquín, Juanpe, Dotor, Lobete; D. Larrubia and Chupe were in the line-up. The centre-back, a product of the MCF Academy, made his official debut with the Blue and White first team.
The opening minutes were evenly matched between both sides, with no clear chances. That was until Lobete struck the crossbar with a long-range effort on his left foot. The Málaga attacker won the ball in the opposition half and shaped up for the shot, but his effort hit the woodwork and went wide (10').
The home side responded and created a chance from a set piece. Enol headed a fine cross from D. Luna on the left wing of Huesca’s attack, but the ball failed to find the target (14’).
The match continued evenly, with no notable chances for either team. At half-time, the scoreboard at El Alcoraz still read 0-0.
At the restart, a substitution for Málaga: Darko, making his debut for the club, came on for Lobete. Sergio Pellicer’s side took control of possession in the opening minutes of the second half and enjoyed a dangerous opportunity with Chupe at the centre of it. The Málaga striker got the better of the home defender and was advancing toward a one-on-one, but his final touch was too heavy and the ball ended up in the hands of the home goalkeeper.
In the 66th minute, Niño and Dani Lorenzo came on to replace Chupe and Dotor. Shortly after, Joaquín went in search of the opening goal with an individual move. The winger received the ball on the left flank with space and took on the Huesca defender. Once inside the box, he cut inside and aimed for D. Jiménez’s far post, but his shot went over the crossbar. Then in the 79th minute, a change in midfield: Rafa replaced Juanpe. The final substitution came in the 85th minute, with Jauregi coming on for Joaquín.
In stoppage time, David Larrubia had the chance to make it 0-1 after a brilliant solo effort in the 93rd minute. Immediately afterward, just before the final whistle, Liberto scored the winning goal for Huesca (1-0, 94'). A cruel ending for Málaga CF, who were just seconds away from remaining unbeaten in the league.
