Córdoba, kilometre 28

Málaga CF scored a valuable point in the final seconds of last Saturday’s match at the Nuevo Arcángel. A draw that makes eight games on the bounce without defeat.

The 1-1 against Córdoba CF left us numerous highlights that we review below:

Exemplary show from fans

Yet another example of Malaguista fans’ loyalty and love for the Blue and White colours. Over a thousand fans headed to Córdoba, supporters’ groups and individuals, to cheer on their team before and during the game. Oh, and there was great camaraderie with the local fans. Nice work!

438 minutes without conceding a goal away from home

Munir hasn’t conceded an away goal since 8th December 2018! It was against RCD Mallorca which ended in victory (1-2). Subsequently, the Melilla-born goalkeeper kept a clean sheet in Oviedo (0-0), Zaragoza (0-2), Tenerife (0-0) and Majadahonda (0-1), until last Saturday’s goal netted by De Las Cuevas in 61’. Great defensive work.

All about Pau

The young defender continues to accumulate matches with incredible consistency. He is the only player in LaLiga 1|2|3 who has played every minute (2.520) of every game (28). Despite the four yellow cards he received several matches ago, Pau Torres doesn’t flinch and works hard with strength and sobriety.

N’Diaye nets another away goal

The third goal for the Senegalese midfielder this league season. Curiously, all three goals have been scored away from La Rosaleda, and all worth their weight in gold. In the first match, in Lugo, his goal (1-2, 89’) led to the first victory of the season. Also, in Galicia, against Deportivo, Alfred scored the 0-1, resulting in a point for the Malaguistas (1-1). In Córdoba, just before the final whistle, he scored another major goal to add a point to the pot.

Luis, back in the starting-11

Although two weeks ago he played the final minutes of the match against Rayo Majadahonda, Diego González’s sanction opened the doors to the starting line-up for Luis Hernández in Córdoba. Since matchday 12, in Pamplona against CA Osasuna, the Madrid-born defender hasn’t been in Muñiz’s starting-11. Having recovered from long-term injury, his performance in defence and ultra-powerful throw-ins on the attack stood out at the Nuevo Arcángel.
