Cop, the third Malaguista to take part in a Euro Championship

The Croatian striker debuted with his national team in last night’s match against Spain in the group stage of the competition.

Duje Cop played several minutes of Croatia’s victory against Spain (2-1).  The Malaguista striker joined the match in minute 90 in substitution of Marko Pjaca, becoming the 3rd Malaguista to participate in the European competition.  Before him, Joris Mathijsen (Holland) and Santiago Cazorla (Champion in 2012 with Spain) have taken part.

Cop will be in the last-16 of Euro 2016 with Croatia having qualified in Group D first place.
