Contreras: “We must emphasise the importance of every girl on this team”

The Blue and Whites’ coach positively assesses the presence of Málaga born players and Málaga CF homegrown players in the first match of 2018: “They fight for this and that is precisely why we deserve to achieve our goal”.

First victory of the year

“The Kings have been good to us. The important thing is what we’ve been talking about since the start: the importance of every girl on this team. Today, for example, Adriana didn’t play. We’ve also been saying for some time how important Meri is for the team, and I think she’ll bring us that something we were missing”.

Debut of Lucía in the Blue and Whites’ goal

“I think this is good for her, for the team and for the entire Club. I’d also like to highlight the attitude of María R. as captain, and for everyone else who did their bit. At first it seems easy, but scoring 10 or 11 goals isn’t a straightforward feat”.

Homegrown Málaga CF players

“Today Ruth, Lucía and María played… We also have Noelia and Encarni who are homegrown. In the end I think a large percentage of Málaga-born footballers played, who fight for this and that is precisely why we deserve to achieve our goal, as the girls work hard every day”.
