Chory, MVP of #MálagaDépor

Chory Castro was named Man of the Match by Blue and Whites’ fans in yesterday’s clash with RC Deportivo: “The team is committed; we have a lot to say”.

The Uruguayan winger claims his first MVP title of the season, during a campaign in which Málaga-based company, Joyería Marcos and multinational watch brand, Hublot sponsor this accolade.

Statements by Chory

Victory against Dépor

“This was a match we had to win. It was a team game and the substitutions were fundamental; Borja with that third goal, as well as ‘Onti’ and Juanpi, who made the two assists in the second and third goals. This shows that the team is committed, and if we continue along this line, particularly in our home games, we’ll have a lot to say”.

Consolidate at Rosaleda

“A match of highs and lows, but the important thing is victory remained here in Málaga. We’ve got some very tough away games coming up, but we need to consolidate ourselves here, with our fans, and make La Rosaleda a fortress. We hope these two consecutive home victories will continue to provide our strength”.

Wear

“From a personal aspect, the last 10 minutes felt a bit long, the virus I had on Monday and Tuesday caught up with me towards the end of the match. You run a lot, at times a little disorganised, as everyone is going for the same thing. The coach decided to make the changes somewhat sooner than normal as the game was moving like that, but luckily there were no injuries, just cramps and muscle strains. The goal? I don’t know how, but it went in, and we equalised. Thanks also to Borja who knew how to make the most of it and score the winner, which he needed. He was delighted and very emotional, hopefully he’ll continue to bring us a lot more of himself”.

Work

“We’re calm, we mustn’t go crazy, LaLiga is very long and we’ve let key matches escape us through our own errors at times, and others through mistakes that were not our doing. However, we need to focus on ourselves and keep working hard, enjoy this win, but concentrate now on the Bernabéu”.

Fans

“Always grateful to the fans, more than anything this is merit of the entire team. We showed Málaga is a very strong team, and with our fans supporting us and cheering us on for the 90 minutes, we can make La Rosaleda a very strong fortress indeed”.
