Málaga Club de Fútbol’s first team midfielder, Santi Cazorla, held a pre-training press conference at the Ciudad de Málaga Stadium, this Tuesday morning, the 10th of April.
(Objectives and results) "We’ve still got seven League matches left, and have everything to play for. We’re in a very privileged position, but we need to keep calm and focused, as there are lots of teams all fighting for the same goal, and a victory or defeat can see you move in and out of these positions. Now we’re concentrating solely on Villareal, not in our third position in the League”.
“We never thought we’d be in this position at the beginning of the season, and fighting to qualify for the Champions League. The team has maintained a high level throughout this campaign, and we’re totally focused on the remaining matches and making our European dream come true”.
(Team) "The team is performing brilliantly, with consistent high quality game play. I hope our injured players make a speedy recovery, so we can be even stronger still. We’re in a great position and have only lost a few points in matches. If we continue like this, we can achieve our goals”.
(Racing) "We played a good game yesterday, not just because we won, but our style of play. We dominated the match within the first few minutes, and had several goal chances, scored three goals, and controlled the match”.
(Villarreal) "It’s going to be a difficult match. We need to get the three points in front of their fans. We’ll play as well as we possibly can, and if we maintain this level, we should have a lot of chances. I’m looking forward to going, although it might be quite strange after so much time. Once I’m on the pitch I’ll only be thinking of what I need to do to help the team”.
