Cazorla: “Playing with the national side in front of your fans is great”

Málaga Club de Fútbol player, Santi Cazorla, spoke to the media at the Ciudad de Málaga athletics stadium, minutes before today’s session (Thursday 1st March

(Spain’s national team) “I’m happy for having participated and for being a part of a team that performed at this level.  It’s great playing with the national side in front of your fans, and we wanted to show that we still have our philosophy of play.  It’s a privilege to go out and play with such great teammates.”

“My intention is to continue with the national side; there are some talented and enthusiastic youngsters coming up, who are putting the squeeze on, and after not playing in the World Cup, it’s a privilege to still be in the team.”

(Spain’s welcome). “Many players in the squad told me that they were pleasantly surprised by the welcome and we were happy to return yesterday’s support with a win and by putting on a good show.”

(Getafe) “It’ll be a difficult game.  They have some good players and we know it’ll be close.  But the important thing is to add-up points away.  The first half with Bilbao is what we need to aim for in order to secure some good away results.”
