“We’re annoyed with how the match went. I think the team played a great game, and if we have to lose, then I’d rather lose knowing we gave our all on the pitch. From the first minute, we dominated play; in the first half with more control and in the second half with more set pieces. We’re on the right track, and any day now we’ll convert all the opportunities we have into goals”.
Attack
“The most important thing in football is scoring goals. It was a shame we lacked that little bit of luck in front of goal as we were creating chances. We maintained a solid defence, and we have the ball more now during games. We’ll continue on, as there’s a lot of League competition remaining, so taking the positives out of this defeat is key”.
Dominance and opportunities
“We were dominating play, yet from an isolated action and with a shot from 30 metres away…it was lucky for them and unfair for us. That’s football; the ball went in for them and despite us generating many chances, we couldn’t find the net. We had all kinds of opportunities to get on the scoreboard, but we’ve not been lucky on the field of play for a while now”.
Unfair result
“We need to stay on the same path, consisting of hard work, sacrifice, and remaining a humble, united squad. That’s how victories are achieved. It’s crucial we don’t get down about the result, as that’s not fair on anyone”.
MVP
“We’re all one more member of the team, and the players certainly gave their all throughout the match. The second round has only just begun, and the fans should be proud of their team who kept insisting until the very last minute. Together the good results and joy will come”.
