Blue and Whites’ player, Bakary Koné won the bronze medal in the Africa Cup in Gabon, after Burkina Faso defeated Ghana in the third-place play-off.
Koné was in the starting line-up and played the 90 minutes in defence for his country, Burkina Faso, who beat Ghana last night at Gabon’s Stade de Port-Genil (1-0, Traoré 89’), to claim third place in the #CAN2017. The Malaguista central defender, who has already been a continental runner-up with his country in the Africa Cup held in South Africa in 2013, completed the six full matches with Burkina Faso in the African competition.
Great success in this competition for Koné, who emulates the achievements of Victor Obinna in 2010, when the former MCF striker claimed bronze with Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola, scoring the winning goal against Algeria in the ‘consolation round’.
