Blessed madness, Malaguistas!

Malaguismo is a strong and irrational feeling that generates an emotional bond among thousands of Blue and White fans. In the most difficult times, the fans come together to encourage and drive the team forward. Yesterday, once again, they once again show

Among all the chants from the Blue and White fans, there is one that perfectly defines the relationship between the team and the crowd. “Win or lose, I will defend you,” echoes La Rosaleda from Fondo Sur, inspiring the rest of the stadium. That's how it is. The signs of Memory, Commitment and Faith from the Malaguista fans are increasing and the defence of the shield is more and more passionate.

Feelings are shown with actions and not with words, but the Malaguista fans prove over and over again their real, deep love for their team. Sergio Pellicer and Fran Villalba alluded to this 'madness' after the huge number of fans in Lugo. Yesterday, the stands at La Rosaleda displayed a motivating message following this line: “Our madness makes you unstoppable. Vamos, Málaga!”

It’s the only explanation of what happened yesterday. Above all, before the match, the reception exemplified the dimension of Malaguismo. Since first thing in the morning, La Rosaleda was finalising the preparations for an important day, as our friend Alberto, from En Isos Bajas, captured with a spectacular timelapse of the stadium.

Thousands of Blue and white fans gathered on Avenida de la Palmilla to welcome the team bus. Jumps, songs, flags, scarves, confetti and Charanga No Ni Ná all featured on this authentic Malaguista afternoon. Young and old. Boys and girls. Malaguista families that ensure the present and future of Málaga CF. Their synergy left indelible images. Both in the cameras and in the retinas of those present.

Málaga had the support of celebrities such as bullfighter José Tomás and actor Pablo Puyol, as well as the presence of artist José Luis Puche, who designed the captain’s armband in tribute to the Malaguista fans. A replica of this was presented to SD Huesca, following the Huesca club's tradition of dedicating the armbands to the cities and clubs they visit.

After the recent visits to Vila-Real and Lugo, the Malaguistas broke the attendance record for La Rosaleda this season, with 27,202 fans watching the match. Throughout the game, the stands were 'player 12'.

On days like yesterday, with everything the Malaguista Family has experienced, the draw does not tarnish what the fans and team have shown. “Nobody is going to give up,” Pellicer stated with reason and conviction after the game. Because no one said it was easy, and difficult doesn’t mean impossible.

On days like this, with thousands of Malaguistas, a lot of Blue and White and an unforgettable reception, the fans face the final stretch of the competition with the Faith of those who believe it’s possible to stay up. ¡Sí se puede!
