The legendary Málaga CF player returned to the Blue and Whites’ Club within the Málaga CF Foundation Social Area, where he will be a benchmark for various social projects.
Sebastián Fernández Reyes ‘Basti’ is one of the most loved players amongst fans, and his history is closely linked to some of the Club’s most difficult times in the 90s, where his goals were instrumental in the team’s promotion from the Third to the First Division.
Basti met with Málaga CF’s director general, Vicente Casado this morning, and formalised his commitment to his former Club to become part of the MCF Foundation within the Social Area.
Vicente Casado welcomed Basti, who he describes as “an historic footballer, appreciated by everyone as a player and a person. Basti is part of the Club’s commitment to celebrate the history of Málaga, so today is a very important day for us.”
For his part, Málaga CF’s highest goal-scorer says he is “very happy. I’m reliving my time as a player. It’s a pleasure that Málaga has thought about me and I’m looking forward to returning to work with the Club I love.”
