Back to work with maximum safety precautions

Málaga Club de Fútbol’s first team will carry out the routine medical checks on Wednesday, to kick off the pre-season.

Sergio Pellicer’s team will meet first thing in the morning at La Rosaleda Stadium’s facilities. The players will undergo a PCR test plus serology, a blood analysis, weight and body fat measurement. The tests will be carried out in small groups or individually so as not to cross over one another, thereby complying with the health protocols established by LaLiga due to COVID-19.

The use of a mask, hand-washing, temperature-taking and maintaining a safe distance will remain in place on the entrance and exit of Martiricos.

According to LaLiga, until further notice, the dressing rooms cannot be used during training sessions. The protocol for the players will be the same as at the end of the 19/20 season. They must change at home and leave the stadium in their training kit, showering at home.

According to Juan Carlos Pérez-Frías, head of the Club’s medical services, “in the hypothetical case of a positive” for COVID-19, “we would continue with the parameters set for the asymptomatic, self-isolation at home for two weeks. If the symptoms are mild, they will be sent home, or in more serious cases they may have to go to hospital”, he said.

As such, there will be a second test (PCR) three days after the tests scheduled for tomorrow for the team. Until the results of the second tests are obtained, LaLiga will determine training on an individual basis.
