Back to work for 17 squad members but internationals absent

Málaga Club de Fútbol got back to work this bank holiday at the Ciudad de Málaga stadium, after a day off yesterday. It was an hour and a half’s session with many absences from the Malaguista squad.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini led the 17-strong squad including goalkeepers Willy and Rubén, plus players Gámez, Demichelis, Weligton, Monreal, Rosario, Malagueño, Camacho, Toulalan, Joaquín, Portillo, Eliseu, Duda, Buonanotte, Recio and Van Nistelrooy – the latter also doing more specialist wortk alongside the auxiliary coach, Enrique Ruiz.

Several Blue and Whites were out on international duty, namely Seba (Uruguay), Cazorla (Spain), Mathijsen (Holland), Rondón (Venezuela), Kameni (Cameroon), Isco (Spanish Olympic side) and Juanmi (Spain’s Under 19s).

Also absent was Enzo Maresca who has a cold; Sergio Sánchez, who was injured in the previous league clash against Zaragoza and who will now be out for three weeks; and Julio Baptista who is continuing with his recovery treatments separate from the group.

The Blue and Whites will return to the Ciudad de Málaga stadium tomorrow at 10.30 a.m for another session.
