Atlético Malagueño gets its first away win against San Pedro (2-1)

This morning Atlético Malagueño achieved its first away win of the season against Unión Deportivo San Pedro, beating them 2-1 in the sixth match of the Third Divison’s Group IX.

The Málaga team returned to play in San Pedro’s Municipal Stadium - where they played U.D Marbella in their previous game – and was under the orders of the squad’s deputy manager, Daniel López, who is substituting for the sanctioned Jaime Molina.

Both teams equally dominated the first half and, on vaious occasions, Atlético Malagueño were near the opponent’s penalty area. However, it was San Pedro who had clearer chances, with two shots hitting the posts, which obliged Pol to pull out all the stops to achieve a goaless draw.

The second half began with Atlético Malagueño more active in attack, and in the fourth minute Marcos took it to 1-0 with a great shot that hit the right post before catapulting in. From that moment on, San Pedro turned up the heat and found more chances to cause danger in Málaga’s area.  In less than a quarter of an hour, Atlético Malagueño rubbished the pressure the home side were putting on them when Juanfri scored the second goal.  As 2-0 appeared on the scoreboard, San Pedro’s Añon took a shot that entered the back of Pol’s goal during a great performance, but which still allowed the visitors to leave as victors.
