Josep Clotet’s boys were fully prepared for a difficult match, against a rival desperate for points, but the Blue and Whites were bursting with motivation for a victory which would see them claim top spot in the Group.  The game got off to a tough start, against an uncomfortable rival putting a lot of pressure on midfield, impeding the flow of the ‘Malaguista’ game play.  However they stepped up the attack to open the scoring, and were in the lead by 0-2 at half-time.
 
Atlético Malagueño created several goal opportunities in the second half, as their need to score meant that Juventud Torremolinos left too much space in defence.  Two decisions by the referee gave hope to the local team, with an uncalled penalty on Óscar and another awarded to Torremolinos.  However the Blue and Whites defended their lead, came away with three points, and are now leaders of the Group.
