Atlético Malagueño lost to Unión Deportiva San Pedro in the 30th Third Division Group IX match over the weekend. Following this result, the ‘Malaguistas’ have moved down to fifth place in the table.
The ‘Malaguista’ reserve team was unable to take the three points from this match against UD San Pedro, who was the superior side on the pitch. Josep Clotet’s boys were aiming to stay in the ‘play-offs’ position following this game.
The Blue and Whites imposed a steady rhythm of play from the start, but the first goal came from a free kick by the visitors (Carreño, `32). Atlético Malagueño were determined to equalise in the second half, which led to UD San Pedro to make a number of errors, resulting in a goal for Emilio Guerra in the 56th minute. The referee awarded a penalty to Malagueño for a hand ball offence following a corner, although striker Emilio Guerra failed to score thanks to an impressive save by goalkeeper Reina. Minutes later the visitors netted the winning goal (Dopico´79).
‘Juvenil’ player, Alejandro Mula made his debut for the ‘Malaguista’ team in this match, playing well for the entire 90 minutes.
