Champions League quarter-final first leg team line-up
Manuel Pellegrini has announced the team for Wednesday’s historic UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg match against Borussia Dortmund at La Rosaleda.
The 19-player line-up: Kameni, Gamez, Weligton, Lugano, Demichelis, Camacho, Joaquin, Toulalan, Saviola, Baptista, Willy, Iturra, Duda, Sanchez, Isco, Santa Cruz, Antunes and Portillo.
Following their exclusion from the line-up during last week’s match against Rayo Vallecano, Diego Lugano, Ignacio Camacho and Duda have been called up for this quarter-final. Seba, Lucas Piazon, Pedro Morales – not signed up to the Champions League as only three out of four players signed in the January transfer window are permitted – and Onyewu have been left out of the line-up due to a coaching decision, whilst Eliseu is still out through injury.
The ‘Malaguistas’ will leave La Rosaleda at 8:30 p.m., and will be taken to the Hotel THB Reserva del Higuerón on the official team coach, where they’ll remain until just before the match.
