Josep Clotet’s team had every intention of setting the rhythm of the match and not making any mistakes.  However an error by the Blue and Whites allowed the local side to get on the score board with a goal by Moi; and just before half time in minute 38, a controversial penalty scored by Antonio Molina putting Atarfe Industrial 2-0 up, caused a few more problems for Atlético Malagueño.
 
The visitors didn’t lose their spirit in the second half though, and were determined to equalise.  They created several goal opportunities, and were awarded a penalty in the 62nd minute, with Guerra scoring the goal for the Blue and Whites. It was merely a lack of precision that caused the Blue and Whites to lose this match.
