Another three points and a full house of home wins (1-0)

Málaga CF defeated CF Rayo Majadahonda, at La Rosaleda, on LaLiga 1|2|3 matchday 7. A goal from Jack Harper in the first half led to the sixth win of the season for the Malaguista squad.

There was an excellent atmosphere at Martiricos this afternoon, with the run-up to the game featuring the presentation of the new Málaga CF – EDI (MCF Foundation) team, who will be competing in LaLiga Genuine. On the pitch, Muñiz renewed the right wing with Iván and Juanpi in place of injured Cifuentes and Pacheco. Málaga got off to a magnificent start. The lads generated numerous corners and clear chances from the boots of Harper (3’), Ontiveros (6’) and Blanco Leschuk (9’).

The Blue and Whites’ superiority was reflected in a well-deserved first goal. High pressure with a steal from Luis Hernández, a subsequent cross from Iván and a superb header into the back of the net from Harper (1-0, 10’). The second league goal for the reserve team striker brought jubilation to the stands. Rayo Majadahonda didn’t let the goal get them down, with Nico close to an equaliser in minute 12. By the 28th minute, MCF could have increased the lead with a great combinative display which resulted in a cross from Iván and a shot from Leschuk that struck the post.

The Madrid rival approached Munir’s goal with some danger in the final stage of the first half, whilst Juanpi created the last chance for the Malaguistas in minute 39 before the half-time whistle.

Nico, perhaps the standout player for the visitors, forced a save from Munir in 50’ in an action that was subsequently declared invalid for being offside. Blanco Leschuk, in 53’, launched a powerful shot from the right of the attack that collided with the left post. Dani Pacheco, in minute 59, replaced Ontiveros, Muñiz’s first substitution of the game. A few minutes later, the player from Pizarra made a beautiful slalom and propelled a shot towards the target that was deflected by the rival defence.

Hicham came on in place of an applauded Juanpi in minute 68 of play. The match was reaching its epilogue with the usual solid defence from Málaga against a competitive Rayo Majadahonda, who didn’t give up and showed a good collective display. In addition, individually, a long shot from Galán (86’) was deflected with a mighty save from Munir with his other hand. Lacen, coming on in place of goal-scorer Harper in 88’ was the final substitution for the Malaguista squad.

Hicham, on the counter, came close to sealing the result even more in 89’ and 91’. However, the scoreboard remained the same with a more than sufficient 1-0 win to reaffirm Málaga CF as the indisputable leaders of LaLiga 1|2|3 with 18 points out of a possible 21. And 12 out of 12 at La Rosaleda with a clean sheet. Vamos Málaga!
