Another point to stay in the top part of the table (0-0)

All square for Málaga CF against UD Las Palmas, at La Rosaleda, on LaLiga 1|2|3 matchday 25. The second consecutive draw at the Blue and Whites’ stadium and the fifth match on the bounce scoring points to remain in the top part of the standings.

There was a good atmosphere in the stands at Martiricos and, on the pitch, there were two additions to Muñiz’s starting-11. The right wing was completely renewed in respect of the last match against Almería, presenting the new faces of Iván in place of Cifu and Iván Alejo in place of Renato Santos, making his official debut as a Malaguista on his birthday.

Early on, in minute 4, Alejo appeared. An action woven with Blanco Leschuk and an assist by the new number ‘10’ to Keidi who overcame the rival keeper. However, the goal was disallowed by a previous offside action. Málaga controlled Las Palmas, who barely appeared on the attack. It was precisely the opposite for Iván Alejo, who kept the team alive on the right and provided a constant danger in his services to set pieces.

In the final stretch of the first half Málaga had various chances to take the lead. In 27’, from an unlikely shot along the right corner, Leschuk sent the ball to the crossbar. Subsequently, Diego headed the ball over the crossbar in 31’. A hyperactive Alejo tried his luck with a long shot followed by an attempt by Adrián in the 40th minute. In the following corner, Adrián scored after a pass from Keidi, but the referee disallowed the goal as he considered the Albanian’s shot went over the line. At half-time the scoreboard remained at 0-0.

The first attempt at goal in the second half was for the visitors, with a counter-attack finished by Rafa Mir (52’) that failed to find Munir’s goal. In the following action, a cross from Alejo and a semi-volley from Adrián was stopped by Raúl. In 59’, Keidi was sent off with a double yellow card, leaving Málaga CF with 10 men for the final half hour of play. Las Palmas took over control of the ball, however Muñiz’s men stayed perfectly composed awaiting a counter-attack.

In 72’ Las Palmas’ Deivid was shown the red card for a hard tackle on Iván Alejo, evening out the player numbers on either side. A minute later, Harper substituted Erik Morán. In 79’ Blanco Leschuk was shown the yellow card that carries federative suspension, and the Argentinean striker was subsequently replaced by Seleznov (80’). The final Malaguista substitution saw Renato come on in place of an applauded Alejo, who enjoyed an outstanding debut.

The scoreboard didn’t alter from the initial 0-0. The fifth consecutive match without defeat – the third draw on the run – for a fourth-placed MCF in LaLiga 1|2|3 with 45 points.
