Andrés Mérida will bring colour to the Siempre Fuerte Awards

The internationally renowned artist is in charge of the artwork for the sixth edition of the MCF Foundation’s gala. Reproductions of his painting will be given as awards at tomorrow’s gala, 29th March.

The Siempre Fuerte Awards are a benchmark in the city for several reasons. Under the umbrella of the memory of Pablo Ráez and his raising awareness of bone marrow donation, the Malaguista entity brings together charitable organisations, illustrious figures from sport and the province, vibrant musical performances and, of course, the best artwork featuring the stamp of Málaga in its art galleries.

Art has a fundamental role in this gala. So much so that the Siempre Fuerte Awards are a work of art. Of course, the chosen setting to host the gala has to be the Picasso Museum in Málaga.

This year will feature the work of Andrés Mérida, born in Algeciras who has been living in Málaga since childhood. This adopted Malagueño proudly takes the name of our land around the world, making art lovers fall in love with his legacy in places as demanding as New York and Beijing.

His style is unmistakable. Surreal with a brave, alive touch. Colour is the protagonist, although not always. His works scream with harmony. Pleasant and captivating in equal parts. An aesthetic balance only achievable by a few.

Andrés Mérida, thank you for being Siempre Fuerte.
