An equal match and shared points at Butarque (0-0)
Málaga CF come away from Butarque Municipal Stadium with a goalless draw against CD Leganés, in the 28th LaLiga Santander match.
It was a very balanced first half between CD Leganés and Málaga CF. Neither of the two teams knew how to take the reins of play. The Madrid-based rival enjoyed the first opportunity with a powerful shot that was stopped in its tracks by Kameni. Málaga began to conform as the match progressed, but didn’t managed to make any dangerous approaches to the Leganés area. Llorente saved a shot by Bustiza on the goal line that sneaked between the posts. Sandro tried his luck before the end of the first half, but his attempts didn’t come to fruition. The first 45 minutes ended with another attack by Garitano’s men, who created more danger in the first half of play.
The second half kicked off with a good chance for the visitors. Clearance from Sandro hooked a strong pass from Charles, but didn’t find Iago Herrerín’s goal. The best chance of the game so far went to Leganés. A potent shot from Diego Rico was diverted to a corner by Kameni. Míchel made the decision to bring on Jony in place of Chory to refresh the left wing. Although the left-winger caused trouble for the rival on the wing, it was another shot from Diego Rico that narrowly missed out on reaching Kameni’s goal, crashing on the crossbar. The Blue and Whites’ coach made further changes, with Sandro giving his place to Keko. In minute 77, a Malaguista goal looked on the cards. Jony launched a central shot with Keko just missing out on the finish. Five minutes later, the clearest chance of the match arrived. A cross from Rosales and a subsequent shot by Camacho was sent to a corner by Herrerín after a great dive. Duda replaced José Rodríguez with five minutes left to go. Málaga went all out on the attack inside the rival area, but didn’t manage to clinch a victory.
