The Malaguistas lost out to FC Barcelona in the quarter-finals of #LaLigaPromises, bringing an end to a notable performance in the prestigious national Alevin tournament.
After an authoritative win this morning against Deportivo (0-5) in the last 16, the team coached by the Gordillo-Castillejo duo faced a tough challenge in the evening quarter-final clash. They were up against one of the big favourites, FC Barcelona.
In the first half of play, Barcelona’s Llorenç got an early goal. Málaga tightened up in the second half, generating various opportunities but coming up against the mighty Barça keeper, Arnau. In the final stage of play, Pau Fernández and Gerard increased their team’s advantage, sealing a 3-0 victory for Barça.
This ends the Málaga CF Alevínes’ run in the XXVI Torneo Nacional PAMESA LaLiga Promises 2017, which will end tomorrow, Sunday at Ciudad Deportiva del Villarreal CF.
