The Malaguistas’ pre-season is divided into two large blocks. The first kicks off this Thursday with a stay in Benahavís, from 6th to 14th July, the day when the first friendly of 2017/18 is scheduled. Míchel’s men will face Sheffield United at the José Burgos municipal stadium in Coín.
After the first stage of the pre-season, the Malaguista expedition will head to Holland on 19th July, staying at Hotel Bilderberg Groot Heideborg, in Garderen.
Quadrangular
The Blue and Whites have a quadrangular competition and two friendly games confirmed in Holland. The first is the Schauinsland Reisen Cup, at the Schauinsland Reisen Arena in Duisburg, on Sunday 23rd July. Hertha Berlin will be the Blue and Whites’ first rival in the initial knockout match (14:00). MSV Duisburg and Aston Villa will lock horns in another clash. The third and fourth place decider will kick off at 15:00, whilst the final will get underway at 16:00.
AZ Alkmaar and Mönchengladbach
Three days later, on 26th July, Málaga CF will face AZ Alkmaar of the Dutch Eredivisie (19:00, AFAS Stadion). The final match before the team returns to Málaga is against Borussia Mönchengladbach of the Bundesliga (16:00, PCC-Stadion in Duisburg-Homberg), taking place in the city of Homberg. On 29th July, following the match, the Blue and Whites will return to Málaga to continue the pre-season.
