A. González: “It’s a privilege to be here”

The new Malaguista player was remotely presented at the ‘Juan Cortés’ press room. “I’m here to do my bit and work hard in a humble way; this Club is big”, he affirmed.

Enthusiasm

“I’m grateful for the opportunity, for the contact Manolo made and an entire institution working to find a solution for the Club. It’s a privilege for me to be here. What I was told is true, there’s a great group, everyone’s very eager with a lot of energy within the Second Division, which is pretty tough. I’m here to do my bit, occupy a place on the team and help to achieve the objective. I’m so happy with how nice everyone’s been and how close everyone is at the Club, which gives you a boost each day. I’m here to work hard in a humble way, accomplish the season’s objectives and enjoy it”.

Great Club

Following my time in Romania, I spoke to my wife and said that the way to return to the Spanish Second Division was to do it with a very big club. It’s for that reason I’m here, it’s clear that Málaga is Málaga. It has a lot of history behind it, and is a huge opportunity for Venezuelans. I was here on holiday last summer in Benalmádena with my family, and I already had many references of what it would be like to live in the city”.

La Rosaleda

“The first match I saw when I arrived in Europe, around eight years ago, was at La Rosaleda. It was the first stadium I went to. It’s incredible. The structure of the Club is amazing. I’d played here as a visitor, but didn’t know it from the inside”.

Return to Spain

“I’ve come here with the aim and desire to enjoy this Club and the fans. Hopefully it will be for a long time, for many years. That excitement of returning to play in Spain, in the First Division, is my dream. That's why I left Spain, because I saw that the possibilities were slim”.

Growth margin

“I can see that there are many players who are extremely keen to grow together with the Club. It’s clear that it’s a big club and the players want to take it where it deserves to be, the First Division. I’ve been talking to my teammates on the national team for a long time, but I didn’t know how great and well-structured this institution is”.

Versatility

The important thing in my way of playing is that I am able to adapt to any position. My strength is as a right-back, but I can play as a winger. I’ve also played as a left-back for the national team. I’m here to contribute to the squad and be at 100%. If at some point I have to play as a central defender or number '5', which is not my greatest strength, I’m completely available to help the team.”
