Málaga CF Femenino claimed a point from Ciudad Deportiva Andrés Iniesta thanks to a 1-1 draw with Fundación Albacete Femenino. The Olympic goal from Leti in 63’ served for the Malaguistas to climb a position in the table with 14 points after the penultimate match of the year.
The match got off to a somewhat lukewarm start, with one-on-one plays and timidly approaching the areas, with no clear chances for either team. The Albacete attack was perfectly appeased by the Malaguista defence, with a superb performance by Chelsea, who was responsible for the scoreboard remaining goalless at half-time. During the first half, Celia Ruano had the opportunity to open the scoring with a header from a well-placed ball by Adriana. However, luck wasn’t on her side and in 45’ it was still all square.
In the second half, Fundación Albacete dominated the ball and made dangerous approaches to the Málaga goal. In 53’, a foul by Leti on Alba Redondo in the small area led to a penalty in favour of the locals. Liga Iberdrola’s highest scorer netted a goal to take her team 1-0 up. Málaga continued the attack and in 63’ the ball escaped past the corner flag in the Blue and Whites’ favour.
Leti was in charge of placing the ball. The shot – carefully rehearsed all week – went directly into the Albacete goal. A beautiful Olympic goal to take the visitors level. Despite attempts to take the lead, neither team scored again, and the final result was 1-1.
