5 winners in the 5th #SiempreFuerte Awards

The winners have been announced for the fifth edition of the Málaga CF Foundation Awards, taking place in March. Dani Rovira and Sarah Almagro are amongst the victors!

Earlier today, at La Rosaleda, a judging panel made up of 11 people headed up by father of Pablo and honorary member, Paco Ráez, decided the winners of these awards, celebrating their fifth year in 2022.

José María Muñoz (MCF Judicial Administrator), Francisco Martín Aguilar (MCF’s Protocol and Institutional Relations Adviser), Lucas Rodríguez (MCF Foundation Coordinator), Sebastián Fernández ‘Basti’ (From the MCF Foundation’s Social Department), David Lombán (MCF captain), Clo García (MCFF captain) and Antonio Noel (Málaga Genuine captain), on behalf of Málaga CF; and Francisco Javier Pomares (Councillor for Social Rights and Equality at Málaga City Hall), María Lourdes Piña (Deputy for Equality, Social Services and Families at the Diputación de Málaga) and Lola Fernández (Delegate for Equality, Social Policies and Conciliation at the Junta de Andalucía), represented City hall, the Diputación and Junta de Andalucía on the judging panel. Social Entity Awards 2021

Fundación César Ramírez Bisturí Solidario

The Association was founded in 2018 by prominent doctor, César Ramírez. A non-profit organisation that performs humanitarian work operating on patients without resources in developing countries. Its objective, to save lives or improve the quality of life of many people. It also operates in Málaga, even more so during the pandemic, helping in the acquisition and distribution of personal protective equipment in the fight against COVID-19. Up to 30,000 sets of PPE were obtained in the 'Objective Málaga' campaign.

INPAVI

A non-profit association that tackles poverty and social exclusion. It works in various areas of Málaga, focusing on social transformation needs, favouring inclusion and promoting the participation of those in need. It has three consolidated services: Entry Program, helping to fight poverty; Integral Program, focusing on socio-educational actions to promote personal well-being; and Program for the Development of Solidarity Actions, working with the beneficiaries themselves.

Debra-Piel de Mariposa

Founded in 1993, this association was created to serve as a reference for individuals and families affected by the disease known as 'Butterfly Skin'. A rare disorder that causes extreme skin fragility, leading to a high degree of disability and dependence. This organisation provides psychological support and helps with the management of the disease. This requires substantial monthly costs in which Debra, whose headquarters are located in Marbella, helps those affected.

Abdallah Ben Barek Award

Sarah Almagro

This young Law student and lover of sport from Marbella lost her limbs in 2018 due to meningitis. After coming through a highly critical situation, she wanted her life to get back to normal. With the help of prosthetics, she started surfing. A month ago, she was proclaimed world runner-up in adaptive surfing in California. Her next challenge is to take part in the 2024 Paris Olympics. “A disability is not going to limit me,” said Sarah.

Special #SiempreFuerte Award

Dani Rovira

Málaga-born comedian, speaker and actor. He has used his fame to help those in need. He has collaborated with 10 NGOs in Málaga and with the Fundación Ochotumbao he improves the lives of disadvantaged people, helps to protect the environment and defend animals. His documentary 'Todos los caminos' is another example of his charitable work, helping the investigation of people with Rett Syndrome.
