Three points of gold at Villamarín

Málaga CF claimed a valuable win away against Betis in what was an even game, thanks to a Camacho header.

Málaga stormed out in the opening minutes at the Benito Villamarín, creating up to three chances to take the lead.  Charles grazed the post no sooner had the team stepped on to the pitch, and Duje Cop and Albentosa came up against rival keeper, Adán who saved two possible goals.

After the initial storm, the match entered a more balanced stage.  The Blue and Whites remained well-positioned, seeking a quick exit, however there were no clear opportunities in either goal area.

The Malaguistas broke loose at the end of the first half with a chance for Charles and subsequent occasions for Recio, from direct corners, as well as Albentosa, also from a corner kick.

The second half kicked off with more presence in Ochoa’s area by the locals, forcing the keeper to successfully intervene in two shots by Rubén Castro.  Javi Gracia’s team endured the rival’s advances, and both Juankar and Pablo joined the game to freshen up the Blue and Whites.

Betis forgave their rival and paid the price.  Camacho hunted down a pass from Recio and headed the ball into the back of the net to give victory to Málaga and another three points, making the total 39 so far this LaLiga season.
