Málaga CF wins first match in the Aachen Cup

The team defeats German rival, FC Köln by 0-1 in the semis of the #LaLigaWorld tournament, and faces local side, Aachen in the final.

Málaga CF claimed victory over FC Köln in the first 45 minutes of the Aachen Cup, comprising of semis and a final, and only one half per match.

Juande Ramos continues trying out players and giving them minutes, selecting a new starting-11 in which Kameni made his debut this pre-season.  The Blue and Whites circled the rival area during the first 15 minutes, with approaches by Juanpi, Keko and a powerful header from Ricca that sailed over the crossbar.

Málaga controlled the match, and in minute 19 they secured their domination in an action initiated by Keko, that Pablo clinched with quality control and superb definition inside the area.

The German rival barely caused any trouble for Kameni, and just striker, Rudnevs in minute 29 with a shot that hit the post, disturbed the Malaguista goal.  Juanpi responded quickly in minute 36 with a long shot that almost broke the target, in what could have been the goal of the tournament.

A new victory and a pass to the final, where the Blue and Whites will face hosts, Alemannia Aachen, who defeated French side, Olympique Marseille in the second semi-final on penalties.
