3-3 draw in a crazy match at Riazor

The Malaguistas took the lead twice with goals from Camacho and Charles, and ended up earning a point following an own goal during Ochoa’s debut in LaLiga.

Although rain was forecast for the match, it was marked by injuries, six goals, Ochoa’s LaLiga debut, Charles’ 10th goal and an own goal at the end.

Málaga started off well, dressed in the third strip tonight; a white shirt and white shorts and socks.  A game with both rivals equal in the table, and as such, a very even first half.  Málaga took the lead with a good corner from Recio in minute 28’ leading to an accurate shot at the target by Charles, his 10th goal of the season.

It was then Depor’s turn in minute 33’, who sent out a warning with a shot that was saved by Kameni initially, and later Weligton on the goal line.  The action was costly to Málaga as Kameni suffered some injury discomfort minutes later and was replaced by Memo Ochoa, who made his official LaLiga debut with Málaga CF.

Celso Borges gained possession inside the area just before half-time, with the new goalkeeper unable to stop the locals equalising.

The half-time whistle arrived with an excellent opportunity for Chory, whose shot hit the far post.  This was the last action for the Uruguayan, who suffered a strain and was substituted by Horta for the second half.

Neither team dominated in the second half until Camacho rose above everyone inside Deportivo’s area and scored a header into goal in minute 62’, which he dedicated to his new baby, born a few days ago.

This goal put the Malaguistas in front once again, although the joy was short-lived as in minute 68’ Fede Cartabia equalised from inside the area, with a shot that was impossible for Ochoa to save.

The match then went crazy.  The locals went 3-2 ahead thanks to Lucas Vázquez.  Just when it looked as though the game was sentenced, in the final minutes a free-kick from Recio led Arribas to score an own goal.  The end result was 3-3 in a wild match full of goals.
