The left-winger, who played for Málaga CF during the 20/21 season, is returning to the Martiricos club on a permanent basis for the 24/25 season. The player arrives as a free agent from SD Eibar, which retains a percentage of any future transfer fee.
The player signed his new contract with Málaga CF for the current season earlier today and will join his new teammates for his first training session tomorrow.
Yanis Moloud Rahmani Cordeiro (Champigny-sur-Marne, 13/05/1995), of Algerian origin, the French player is a dynamic and electrifying left winger who trained in the youth ranks of Athletic Club de Bilbao (2005-14). At senior level, he began his career with CD Basconia (12/13) and subsequently played for Sestao River (14/15), CD Tudelano, and SD Leioa (15/16), before returning to Sestao River (16/17).
At CD Mirandés during the 17/18 season, Yanis burst onto the scene with 10 goals in 30 matches in Group II of Segunda B. The team from Miranda de Ebro won the regular league and competed in the promotion playoff, where Yanis scored one more goal, but they were unable to move up a division. The following season (18/19), Mirandés did secure promotion to what was previously known as Liga SmartBank. Rahmani scored 8 goals in 35 league matches and played an additional five games in the promotion playoffs, where Mirandés won one of the finals against Atlético Baleares.
Ample experience in the Second Division
Yanis began his stint in the Second Division starting with the 19/20 season. He signed with UD Almería, which loaned him to CD Lugo for that same season. In the following season (20/21), also on loan, he joined Málaga CF and had an excellent individual season, playing 42 matches and logging over 3,000 minutes of play, with 5 goals and 5 assists in the league, plus one more goal in the cup competition. Although there were no fans in the stands that year due to COVID-19, he won the affection of the fans for his character and football, and the team successfully met its objectives despite the off-pitch challenges.
In the three previous seasons with SD Eibar, Rahmani accumulated 74 league matches (scoring 7 goals), 7 in the Copa del Rey, and 3 more in two promotion playoffs to La Liga with the Basque team in the 21/22 and 22/23 seasons.
