Málaga CF Femenino defeated Madrid CF Femenino by 2-1 with goals from Mascaró and Adriana Martín, who came back from being 0-1 down following a goal by Laura del Río for the visitors. Another three points remain in Málaga, putting the Malaguistas in 10th place in the standings.
Madrid CF Femenino dominated the initial stages of play, sending a ball to the post no sooner had the match got underway. Control of play passed between the wings, and the attempts by Antonio Contreras’ girls didn’t have effect. In minute 19 Laura del Río put the Madrid rival in front with a cross shot that landed in the back of Chelsea’s goal (0-1). Madrid maintained possession, but in 42’ Pamela narrowly missed out on a header into goal following a corner. There was no time for more and after 45 minutes the scoreboard remained at 0-1.
In the second half the locals came back a different side. Misa joined the match in substitution of Natalia and Málaga dominated play. In 47’, from a corner, Patricia Mascaró headed the ball into the back of Paola’s net without any problem, who minutes earlier was shown the yellow card for delaying releasing the ball. At 1-1, the Blue and Whites felt more comfortable on the pitch, and in minute 54 fortune was smiling on Andrea. The captain made the most of a perfect pass from Mascaró to slam the ball into the back of the net. Adriana’s goal, the first for the striker in Liga Iberdrola, turned the result around and strengthened the Blue and Whites (2-1).
Far from settling, the Malaguistas continued to approach the goal. Discrepancies between both sides began to flourish and the referee booked Adriana and Yazmin. The match continued until 97’, but 2-1 was the final result.
