Julián Delmás, Arvin Appiah and Lago Junior, the latest three Malaguista signings during the winter transfer market, were presented this Thursday in La Rosaleda’s 'Juan Cortés' Press Room.
Delmás
“It's a pleasure to be at a club like this. We’ve arrived here, determined to turn this situation around. Málaga shouldn’t be in this position. We’re here to do our bit and give our all to achieve the objective.”
“Several colleagues told me that the dressing room here was incredible. It’s the minor details that mean we’re avoiding wins. We’re all united, we’ve been welcomed so well and it’s been easy to adapt as everyone makes it so straightforward.”
“There are historical clubs that you can’t say no to. I made a decision very quickly, I really wanted to come here and what I’d been told was all good.”
“The intensity and eagerness to move this forward is huge. We’re working so hard each day to do our best to win on Saturday as it’s such an important match for us.”
“You have to clear your mind for the next game. We are focused on winning the three points and then we’ll view things differently. When we can accumulate two or three victories, the level of the team and the quality that the team treasures will be seen; we’ll see a different Málaga.”
“We have to stay united, the fans always support us. We need to go out on the pitch and show what we can do. We have to give to the fans so that they give to us. We have to go for the win, the fans will be behind us and we need to go all out for the three points.”
Appiah
“We’re here to enjoy and save this great team, which is Málaga.”
“I’ve integrated very well with them, they’ve shown me the ways of how it is in Málaga and I feel like with the players we have, we’ll really get out of this situation very well. I have so much confidence in myself and in the team and the players that we have, and of course the manager, so we have a big game this week against Burgos and I think everyone is very prepared to get the three points.”
“Málaga is a great club, so I’m really grateful that I got the opportunity to come. This club deserves to be where it deserves to be in LaLiga, a big Champions League team. And of course the fans, the city, it was a no brainer to come here."
“Before coming to Málaga I spoke with the manager and he really wanted a winger like myself to help the team with one-v-ones, running into space and just enjoying my football, so that’s what I got before coming to Málaga."
“We’re training really well, both on the pitch and in the gym. We’re following the tactics that the coach gives us and the victory will come. We have to keep working hard. We’re certain we’ll turn this situation around.”
“Pepe Mel told me that they would rely on me here, I would regain my confidence and I could enjoy football.”
Lago Junior
“We’re in a tough situation. We’re here to help and the sooner we get out of this situation, the better for everyone. We’ll start to enjoy it, the pressure will be off as it’s not comfortable being in the relegation zone. The dressing room and the coaching staff have helped us integrate into the team. I’m so happy to be here.”
“The human group is very important in this situation. We can see people willing to do anything for their teammates, to help the new arrivals. They are guys who are working hard to improve each day. I’m thrilled to be here, I thank everyone who has helped me here. I want to enjoy Málaga and the sooner we get out of this situation, the better.”
“I came with great enthusiasm to play against Málaga and I always wanted to play here, because there were so many beautiful things to see. When Manolo called me, I didn’t have to think about it, it wasn’t a hard decision. All teams go through bad times. We’ll overcome the situation and enjoy ourselves again.”
“Before signing for Málaga CF, I had a conversation with Mel. He was looking for a fast, vertical winger, and he wanted me to be here.”
"On Saturday we have a very important game against Burgos, and I hope the fans come to cheer us on as we really need them.”
“We have to insist, we compete very well. The negative phase and the mental level impact you when you’re in the drop zone. As soon as you win two or three matches, the dynamics change. From Saturday, we’ll see a different side.”
“I’m not focusing on the standings, there are many matches left and many things to do. It's possible.”
“If I can score my first goal on Saturday that’ll be great. Let’s hope it happens on Saturday.”
