Weligton visits Municipal Football School in Benahavís

One of Málaga CF’s captains, Weligton Robson Pena de Oliveira enjoyed a great day with the students of the Benahavís Municipal Football School.

The charismatic Brazilian defender headed up the Malaguista representation at the idyllic setting of the Costa del Sol municipality, which from 23rd to 29th April is celebrating the V Sports Cultural Social Week.  Weligton chatted with the young players from the Municipal Football School in Benahavís, signed autographs, posed for photos and gifted personalised postcards.

“As Malaguistas we love Benahavís, we’ve spent some amazing pre-seasons here and it’s a pleasure to take part in an event like this.  Watching the children’s eyes light up gives you such a wonderful feeling,” comments ‘El Mariscal’ to MCFTV, who also spoke to Sports Councillor in Benahavís, Alonso Mena.  “For another year we give our utmost support to the Club, not just through advertising, but also collaboration agreements.  This Málaga initiative is important, as it brings the team to the people of the province,” says the Councillor.

Since last Saturday, as part of the opening celebrations of the V Sports Cultural Social Week in Benahavís, the Association of Ex-Málaga Football Players visited the municipal ground to take part in a triangular exhibition competition.  The Blue and Whites’ were victorious over the Estepona Veterans (3-0, hat trick from Curro) and the Benahavís Veterans (1-0, great goal by Fernando).
