Málaga CF won away to Granada CF on matchday 28 of LaLiga Hypermotion. David Larrubia’s goal in the 86th minute secured the victory and takes the team to 47 points.

Málaga Club de Fútbol and Granada CF faced off on matchday 28 of LaLiga Hypermotion at the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes. Coinciding with Día de Andalucía, it was a regional derby with nearly two thousand Malaguistas in the stands. On the pitch, Funes named the following starting-11: Alfonso Herrero; C. Puga, Murillo, Montero, Rafita; Izan M., Dotor, Dani Lorenzo; D. Larrubia, Lobete and Chupe.

During the first half, the home side had several chances to take the lead, with Arnaiz, Sola and Diocou involved. However, Málaga CF had the clearest opportunity. In the 27th minute, Manu Lama brought down Chupe inside the box. The Malaguista number 9 struck the penalty powerfully from the spot, but his shot crashed against the crossbar and went out.

In the closing stages of the first half (37’), Lobete tried his luck from the edge of the box and forced a fine save from Luca. Málaga CF looked to control the game and take the lead through possession, but the score remained 0-0 until the referee’s whistle.

After the break, the Malaguistas took control of the ball and dictated the tempo of the game, although they were unable to turn that dominance into goals.

In minute 62, Lobete was replaced by Dorrio O. Chupe threatened in the 64th with an effort that drifted just wide of the post, and in the 67th Dorrio O. was denied by Luca. In minute 76, a triple substitution was made: Chupe, Dotor and Izan M. came off, with Niño, Aarón Ochoa and Rafa R. coming on.

The first and only goal of the match arrived in the 86th minute, when David Larrubia fired a shot into the far corner to make it 0-1 for Málaga CF.

The match finished 0-1. A victory that takes Málaga CF up to 47 points in the standings.
