Málaga CF drew away to RC Deportivo on matchday 34 of LaLiga Hypermotion.
Málaga Club de Fútbol and Real Club Deportivo faced each other on matchday 34 of LALIGA HYPERMOTION at ABANCA-Riazor. Several hundred Malaguistas accompanied the team, creating a lively atmosphere at the Coruña stadium. On the pitch, Funes lined up the following starting-11: Alfonso Herrero; C. Puga, Murillo, Montero, Rafita; Juanpe, Izan M., Aaron Ochoa; Joaquín, D. Larrubia, and Chupe.
Málaga controlled possession for much of the first half, although without creating clear chances. Several dribbles from Joaquín and a deflected shot from Chupe were the main attempts by Funes’ side.
Meanwhile, during the hosts’ offensive phase, with several attacks and consecutive corner kicks, Málaga’s players remained solid defensively. Alfonso pulled off a spectacular save to deny a long-range shot from Quagliata. At half-time, the score remained 0-0.
After the restart, the Blue and Whites had two clear chances through Joaquín. In the 64th minute, his shot went just wide of the left post, and in the 71st minute, he tried again with a strike that rattled the post.
In the 73rd minute, the home side took the lead through Mulattieri. Málaga responded quickly, and in minute 78, Niño levelled the score after converting a great cross from Dorrio O. from a corner kick (1-1).
Málaga earn a point at ABANCA-RIAZOR, bringing the Blue and Whites up to 57 points in the league standings.
Their next league match will be at home, returning to La Rosaleda to face UD Las Palmas on Saturday 11th April at 18:30.
