The speed and quality of Jairo, at the service of MCF

The left winger, with experience in LaLiga Santander and SmartBank, joins the Blue and White ranks in ownership for the next two seasons.

Jairo Samperio Bustara (Cabezón de la Sal – Cantabria, 11/07/1993) is officially a Málaga CF player. The technical, pacey attacker has experience in the First and Second Divisions as well as Germany’s Bundesliga.

Having started out in the youth ranks of Racing de Santander, Jairo debuted with the first team in an electric match against Valencia CF (4-3) on matchday 1 of LaLiga Santander 11/12 (27/08/2011 substituting Arana in 77´). Since then, Samperio has played 61 matches in the First Division, 38 in the Second, 72 in the Bundesliga and 13 Europa League clashes.

European champion and experience in Germany

Jairo consolidated himself in Racing’s first team at just 18 years of age, where he played 25 games in the First Division in 11/12 and 38 in the silver division of Spanish football in the 12/13 campaign. His magnificent performance on the wing led to him signing to Sevilla FC in the 13/14 season, where he won the Europa League. At 20 years old, he played nine games in that competition and scored a goal.

After two seasons with Sevilla, the winger moved to Germany to join Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga. During his four seasons wearing the red jersey with the German outfit, he played 72 official matches and scored 11 goals.

Following four years away from his home country, he decided to return in the LaLiga Santander 17/18 winter transfer window and joined UD Las Palmas. At the end of the season he moved back to Germany to try to help historic side Hamburger, competing in the 2 Bundesliga, to move back to the elite.

Jairo with the Blue and Whites

After leaving his contract with Hamburger, Jairo brings his speed and quality to the Blue and White wing for the next two seasons.

Best of luck, Jairo!
