The Metaverse comes to La Rosaleda

On Saturday 3rd December, at the Caja Blanca, a musical concert will be held that can also be experienced virtually at La Rosaleda Stadium thanks to the innovative technology of the Metaverse.

The Martiricos stadium has hosted iconic concerts by great artists from the world of music. Rocío Jurado, George Michael, Shakira, Alejandro Sanz, Maná... 15 years later, La Rosaleda will once again be the epicentre of a great music event, but this time it will be in the Metaverse.

The Club will be taking part in Mobile Week in Málaga, which will be held from 1st to 4th December, placing itself at the forefront of sports and technology for the fans. The City Hall is promoting this initiative through the Department of Education, Youth and Employment. Its general manager, Fernando Leguina, spoke of an “unprecedented event in the Metaverse in a space like La Rosaleda. I think it’s the first time in Spain. It will be possible to interact with the musicians themselves and bring together people from different places, virtually, in real time.”

MCF has recreated its stadium with the prestigious startup Rock&Change and its brand, Metaverso ILV400. The development platform, AltspaceVR, allows users to access a unique and immersive experience from a PC, MAC or virtual reality glasses. Málaga CF takes a technological leap that puts it at the helm of Spanish professional football clubs as a forerunner in the Metaverse. In the words of Isaac Jiménez, CEO of Rock&Change, “the Metaverse will offer clubs an experience that goes way beyond sport. A wide range of possibilities opens up where members can feel a greater sense of belonging to the club. The opportunities are unlimited, from breaking the geographical barriers for fans who live outside Málaga capital and want to feel like they are in the stadium, to being able to visit the ground, enjoy private tours, buy souvenirs or even the possibility of meeting the players.” At La Rosaleda, “the technical possibilities of the Metaverse open up experiences to society that are not possible today and extend the possibilities that La Rosaleda currently offers”, says Ramsés Ramírez, CCO of Rock&Change.

The Club, meanwhile, is delighted to be part of this unique initiative in Spanish football: “The Club is proud to carry out this initiative together with Málaga City Hall. Our house, La Rosaleda, becomes a pioneer as we don’t know of any other Spanish stadium that has hosted a concert in the Metaverse. The user can enjoy the experience within the venue. Thanks to this event, we continue to take steps in the digital world. An initiative in which LaLiga Impulso considers the clubs will evolve considerably within the coming years. The commitment to innovation and new platforms is a good way to grow according to LaLiga and this is a thought that we share one hundred percent,” comments Ana Vera, director of the Institutional Relations Department at Málaga CF.

Carlos Arias, director of the Club's Business and General Services Department talked about the importance of turning La Rosaleda “into another event space, since it opens up an opportunity to introduce this digitisation to our fans. We believe the Metaverse will lead to that new audience. It opens up new possibilities for us to collaborate with other businesses and get closer to the fans in a different way.”

On 3rd December, the Malaguista stadium will be the virtual venue for a concert that will physically take place at the capital's Caja Blanca (Avenida del Editor Ángel Caffarena, 8) starting at 20:00. Thanks to the Metaverse, if you cannot attend the concert live, you will be able to experience it virtually and for free through a different and innovative reality.

Access to the concert from the Metaverse must be done through the aforementioned AltstaceVR platform. Choose the device from where you want to watch the event and enter the code MSU093. You can experience it in first person, interact with the artists and chat with other attendees.
