We’re full of enthusiasm

Larrubia, Kevin, Roberto and Dani Lorenzo appeared before the media after making it official that they will form part of Málaga CF for the 2023/2024 season. The four players were accompanied by sporting director Loren Juarros.

The press conference began with a few words from Loren Juarros, who pointed out that it was “a slightly different presentation. It’s a greater reason for joy and pride. They are four players who had to leave and who have returned home. Present and future players on whom a project must be created in which I believe, in which we all believe in the club. This has to be the basis for the future of Málaga,” stated the Malaguista sporting director.

“From day one, all four of them expressed their willingness and joy to return to Málaga, with a high level of commitment, ready to take on the challenge that lies ahead and with a determination to return Málaga to where it should be,” he added.

All agreed that “leaving helped us to mature.” For his part, Dani Lorenzo explained that “the loan is the best thing that could have happened. Both physically and from a football point of view, it’s been great for me. I learned a lot and now I can apply it to the service of the team. You have to have responsibility, but no pressure. It’s all about enthusiasm and determination,” he commented.

As Kevin indicated, the key for this season is “to fight every day, work hard and go match by match. The pressure is on yourself. This is a very big club with incredible fans. You have to have what you have to have to play at this stadium. We’ll give our all for this shield. I hope everything goes well,” added Roberto.

Dani Lorenzo is “keen to put everything learned during these months at the service of the team. The experience of having left makes you appreciate the responsibility you have. At the same time, without any pressure. It’s a great opportunity for us. It’s an exciting season. Responsibility, enthusiasm and desire,” explained the Marbella-born midfielder.

Larrubia also talked about his new reality, which he takes on with pride and enthusiasm: “I’ve been dreaming of this moment since I was 10 years old, of being part of Málaga's first team. Pellicer has already told us we are facing a once in a lifetime opportunity. We’re part of our city's team, in a year that is tough for everyone, but at the same time it’s beautiful. I see myself prepared to contribute to the team.”

Larrubia will wear the number 10 jersey; Kevin, the number 11; Roberto, number 19; and Dani Lorenzo, number 22. “The choice of number was related to who had debuted before. The number 10 was free. None of the other players had asked me and it’s my favourite number. It is an honour to be able to wear it. The pressure is on,” said the Malagueño player on the reason for choosing his number.
