The ‘Malaguista’ youth teams performed well in Valladolid and return as four champions and a finalist.
The Zaratán Cup is a prestigious international tournament which took place over the bank holiday weekend in Valladolid. Youth teams from various clubs such as Inter Milan, FC Barcelona, Sevilla FC and Sporting Lisbon took part. The competition was made up of five categories: Pre-benjamín, Alevín, Infantil, Cadete and Juvenil, of which Málaga CF was represented in all five.
La Academia teams were finalists in all categories and won four out of five tournament finals. The Infantil side, despite a great performance, lost by 3-0 to Sporting Lisbon, whereas all the other teams won their competitions. Málaga CF won the most trophies in this tournament and showed the youth academy’s good form during the Zaratán Cup.
