Still no goals for Málaga CF in Getafe (1-0)

Málaga CF didn’t manage a win or indeed a goal this evening during the visit to the Alfonso Pérez Coliseum, losing 1-0 thanks to an early goal from Stefan after 2 minutes that conditioned the match.

The worst scenario for a coach before a game is for his team to step on to the pitch and concede a goal within a few minutes.  This is what happened tonight at the Alfonso Pérez Coliseum, as Stefan Scepovic put the locals 1-0 up with a header into goal.

It was a tough blow for Málaga CF, but they soldiered on and Charles sent out a warning with a promising header following a Duda free kick.  It was later Horta who was in a position to equalise, however his left-footer went slightly left of the target.

Málaga CF began to dominate the match without creating any real chances, whilst Getafe CF, 1-0 in the lead, focused on the counter attack.

Half-time arrived and Nordin Amrabat, suffering with injury discomfort, was substituted by Croatian-born striker, Duje Cop.

The visitors got off to a good start in the second half and reached the goal area, but couldn’t convert.  Málaga CF continued to control play, but the clear goal opportunities just weren’t there.  A free kick allowed Duda the best chance to equalise after 81 minutes, but Guaita deflected to a corner.

The goal continued to resist for Málaga CF, as well as the team’s first win of the season.  However the Blue and Whites have another chance on Wednesday to secure victory against Villarreal.
